Keely Holmes, Artist

About the Artist

My name is Keely Holmes and I am a Montana born, bred and based watercolor artist. Like many country girls, I have had a passion for drawing and painting horses since I was a child. I have recently found my way back to watercolor and have been working hard to rebuild my portfolio, my inventory and my website.

Being a sixth generation Gallatin County, Montana native, I have an innate passion and respect for nature and the living creatures that make my home state such a special place. Although my main subjects are of the equine variety, I also enjoy painting many of the other beautiful things, animal and otherwise, that call Montana home. If it makes my heart happy and could bring a smile to someone's face, I want to paint it.

I studied education and art at Montana State University, earning a BS in Elementary Education with a Minor in Art Teaching, K-12. While living in the Seattle, Washington area after college, I ran an educational program for elementary and middle school aged children, and taught art lessons after school. I came back home to Bozeman, Montana in 2007 to help care for my grandparents. I had spent four years in Seattle and was painfully homesick the last three of them. I will never leave home again. I'm here to stay.

I hope you enjoy my website. I know it's still a bit sparse. If you are reading this, know that I am humbled and honored that you are taking a look. Please check back often to see what's new! Thank you!
